ASTRON & IBM Center for Exascale Technology

Seminar: Quality in Electronic Design and Manufacturing

On 16 and 17 June, 2015, DOME will organise a seminar on Quality in Electronic Design and Manufacturing.

User Platform Event

Quality in Electronic Design and manufacturing can be improved by learning from the experience of past projects. To do so, we are organizing a seminar on design quality. The seminar is based on the experience of the DOME project, the UniBoard project at ASTRON, but also two other referents.

For western electronic companies, quality is the main differentiator. In design, quality has several aspects, including the quality of the product and the reduction of the design time.

The seminar will take place at the Institute of Engineering, see contact detail below. Participation is free of charge but registration is required. For registration please contact Patricia Breman via info@dome-exascale.nl or +31 (0)521595267.

    on reviews.
  • 14.30 Coffee/Tea break
  • 14.45 Mr Klaus Flesch will talk about his experience from 30+ years medium

  • 11.45 Mr Gijs Schoonderbeek will give you insight on the experiences he
encountered while designing, testing and manufacturing UniBoard I and II,
the high-density FPGA board used for LOFAR and the Westerbork Synthesis
    Radio Telescopes.
  • 12.30 Lunch
  • 13.30 End

Background information of the referents:

  • While being a student, Mr Klaus Flesch founded his first company (which
later was known as FS GmbH). This company grew to an international net
until it was acquired by digi.com.At digi.com he was appointed as vice director for embedded products before he retired. He is now enjoying "Slow Food" as vice president of "Slow Food
    Deutschland".
  • Mr Hubert Harrer is Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM Boeblingen and
participated in the design of several generations of IBM servers, mainly
    zSeries.
  • Mr Andreas Doering is working on the microserver workstream of the DOME
project at IBM Research Laboratory in Zürich, Switzerland.
  • Mr Gijs Schoonderbeek works of ASTRON as Instrument Engineer and is
experienced with High-Speed PCB design, design of digital systems and
testing and designing of A/D converter systems.
